What we do

Merry Glen provides service to adults with intellectual or physical disabilities requiring 24/7 support. Services are delivered under a Medicaid contract with the Department of Social and Health Services and the Developmental Disabilities Administration. Regulatory compliance is the responsibility of Aging and Long-term Support Administration/Residential Care Services (RCS). Investigations and inspections are available on-site and at the RCS website. A wide variety of other agencies and advocacy groups also have oversight and inspection authority. There is an infrequent turnover of loved ones at Merry Glen. Currently, there are 15 persons at our main Merry Glen location and two in a separate apartment unit. Merry Glen would like to expand, but the low rates of Medicaid reimbursement and rigid regulation of choices make it impossible to maintain our mission and expand our services.

We are hopeful that the COVID-19 emergency will shine a light on these chronically underfunded services and perhaps lead to wages more commiserate to the job demands.
